Families in Transition: Parenting Gender Diverse Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults
Not yet available
Combining developmental psychology, psychoeducation, and systemic therapy, Families in Transition highlights the importance of clinicians' own social locations and identities. It puts the responsibility on clinicians to challenge their own cisnormativity and blind spots, and to evaluate the ways they can become ""gender creative."" Therapists working primarily with young children and adolescents and their families describe the range of parents' emotional reactions and outline psychoeducational tools and clinical strategies to support their children in their quests for acceptance.
